Are you a hands-on finance professional with deep Luxembourg SPV expertise, looking to step out of a large institution and into something you can genuinely help build?
Our client is a leading European private equity investor with a long-established track record of partnering with ambitious businesses across the DACH region and wider European markets. Managing multi-billion euro investment strategies, the firm combines institutional backing, entrepreneurial thinking and a strong growth culture.
The Opportunity As part of its continued expansion, the firm is establishing its own Luxembourg platform to support an increasingly sophisticated international investment structure. This marks an important evolution in the organisation's growth and a significant investment in building long-term capabilities within Luxembourg.
This is a rare opportunity to join an established private equity house at the beginning of a major growth phase. Successful candidates will help shape a new Luxembourg operation from the outset, working closely with senior leadership and playing a visible role in the development of the platform.
Various opportunities exist. For professionals seeking greater responsibility, broader exposure, and the chance to build something meaningful within a high-performing private equity environment, this represents an exceptional opportunity.
The Role
You will be the internal owner of SPV oversight across a portfolio of approximately 150 Luxembourg entities, holding companies, special purpose vehicles, and financing structures spanning multiple jurisdictions. Rather than producing the accounting yourself, your role is to govern, challenge, and validate everything that comes out of the external provider network, and to be the person inside the firm who truly understands the platform.
This is a newly created, senior individual contributor role. There is no local hierarchy above you. You report directly into group-level leadership in Switzerland. You will be one of the first hires on the ground, and what you build here will define how this platform operates for years to come.
What The Role Actually Looks Like Day-to-Day
Financial Oversight & Provider Management
Own the review of quarterly financial statements across ~150 Luxembourg entities, your job is to challenge, not just receive
Monitor transfer pricing documentation to ensure it is implemented correctly and kept current across all structures
Act as the informed, demanding sparring partner for external accounting providers, holding them accountable for quality, accuracy and timeliness
Ensure nothing is filed, submitted, or signed off without passing your internal quality check first
Payments, Liquidity & Capital Movements
Oversee the full payment process across the Luxembourg entity perimeter, nothing moves without your validation
Monitor liquidity positions proactively and prepare funding recommendations before problems arise
Coordinate share subscriptions, capital contributions and shareholder loan movements across the platform
Ensure treasury is always in position to act when required
Structural & Legal Compliance
Track all contractual obligations under financing and legal documentation, interest capitalisation schedules, required notices, covenant triggers
Ensure that accounting records, legal documentation, tax filings and financing arrangements all tell the same consistent story across every SPV
Flag misalignments before they become problems, you are the internal governance layer that catches what external providers miss
Review board materials and internal documentation prepared in Luxembourg and act as quality gatekeeper for internal standards
Tax Compliance Oversight
Manage the full Luxembourg SPV tax compliance calendar across the platform, coordinating external tax advisors and ensuring no deadline is ever missed
Oversee check-the-box elections, ATAD II implications, FATCA/CRS classification and reporting, PFIC and Pillar II developments across the entity perimeter
Support German tax processes relevant to Luxembourg SPVs, shareholder loan positions, accrued interest balances, cross-border data flows
Be the person who can answer "what is our tax exposure?" across the full platform at a moment's notice, without having to call three advisors first
Identify the complex entities within the portfolio requiring specialist attention and ensure they receive it
Transactions & Deal Support
When investment events are live, acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, and financings, step in as a structured, reliable presence, keeping legal, finance, and investment workstreams aligned
Coordinate transaction processes across legal, finance, and investment teams, ensuring documentation standards are maintained under pressure
Support execution of financings, restructurings and cross-jurisdictional transactions as the platform grows
Maintain cap table accuracy and manage onboarding preparations between deal cycles
Process & Innovation
Actively drive the implementation of automated and AI-supported workflows, this firm is investing in this and wants someone who leads it, not follows it
Identify inefficiencies in current processes and fix them, you are building this function, not inheriting it
Help establish robust compliance calendars, documentation standards and advisor management frameworks that will scale with the platform
Your Profile
Qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent professional qualification
6–9 years of experience in SPV controlling, corporate audit, fund structures or a Big Four environment serving private equity or fund clients
Strong working knowledge of Luxembourg SPV structures, corporate governance and the Luxembourg regulatory environment
Solid familiarity with FATCA/CRS, ATAD II, check-the-box elections, PFIC and/or Pillar II, you don't need to be a tax lawyer, but you need to be genuinely tax-literate
Ability to read, interpret and work across legal and financing documentation
Structured thinker who can navigate complexity across multiple entities and jurisdictions simultaneously
English is essential; German is a meaningful advantage given the firm's DACH investment focus
Self-sufficient, highly organised, detail-obsessed and motivated to build rather than maintain
Track record of commitment and progression, this is a firm that values people who invest in their roles for the long term
