Senior Manager – Employee Relations

Greenfield is partnering with an international organisation to recruit a Senior Manager – Employee Relations. This position sits at the intersection of HR strategy, compliance, and employee engagement, with responsibility for ensuring consistent and legally sound employee relations practices across a global footprint.
The role requires close collaboration with leadership, HR teams, and legal stakeholders to manage complex employment matters, support organisational change, and maintain strong relationships with employee representative bodies.

Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Social Dialogue
  • Develop and implement a structured and consistent approach to employee relations across multiple regions
  • Provide expert guidance on sensitive workplace matters, including disciplinary cases, grievances, and investigations
  • Partner with HR and legal stakeholders to ensure policies and practices align with local labor regulations
  • Build and sustain effective relationships with employee representatives, including unions and works councils
  • Support organisational change initiatives by ensuring appropriate consultation processes and clear communication
  • Lead discussions with employee representatives on topics such as workforce changes, working conditions, and policy updates
  • Coordinate the establishment and ongoing functioning of a European Works Council
  • Collaborate with regional HR teams to ensure alignment and effectiveness of local employee relations practices
  • Contribute to negotiations related to restructuring initiatives and collective agreements
  • Advise senior stakeholders on compliant implementation of business decisions
  • Act as a point of escalation for employee concerns, helping to maintain a fair and respectful work environment
Compliance, Investigations & Risk Oversight
  • Oversee frameworks related to workplace conduct, ethics, whistleblowing, and data protection within the HR scope
  • Ensure alignment of practices across regions while maintaining compliance with applicable legislation
  • Lead and manage complex or sensitive investigations, ensuring objectivity, confidentiality, and timely outcomes
  • Evaluate potential risks arising from employee relations or compliance issues and implement mitigation actions
  • Work closely with internal and external legal advisors on employment-related matters when necessary
  • Provide visibility to senior leadership on critical issues and escalation points
Governance & Best Practices
  • Promote adherence to employment regulations and evolving workplace standards (e.g., flexible work, employee rights, pay equity)
  • Support HR and business leaders in handling performance management and career-related discussions in a compliant manner
  • Drive continuous improvement of employee relations processes and frameworks

Candidate Profile
  • Strong ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory topics into practical HR solutions
  • Proven experience influencing stakeholders and navigating challenging discussions
  • Sound judgement and decision-making in sensitive or high-impact situations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated capability in leading or supporting organisational change
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical standards

Experience & Qualifications
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in employee relations and compliance within international environments
  • Experience with Luxembourg labour law
  • Solid understanding of labor laws across different jurisdictions
  • Experience working with employee representative bodies such as works councils or unions
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, multicultural environment
  • Proficiency with standard workplace technologies and openness to new tools
  • Fluency in English is required; additional European languages are advantageous
