Senior Accountant – Internal Finance Team (3-Month Contract | Potential Permanent Role)

We are supporting a well-established corporate services provider in Luxembourg looking to strengthen its internal finance team with a Senior Accountant for an initial 3-month assignment, with the possibility to become permanent.

This role is specifically suited to someone who has worked within an internal accounting department, managing company entities rather than external client portfolios. You will join a small finance team and work closely with the Group CFO, gaining strong exposure to the group’s internal financial operations.

The role:

• Manage the full accounting cycle (A–Z) for several internal group entities
• Support monthly and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare VAT returns, corporate tax filings, and regulatory reports where applicable.
• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and perform account reconciliations.
• Assist with accounts payable, supplier payments, and cash collection follow-up.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
• Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors during audit processes.
• Contribute to budget preparation, financial analysis, and planning activities.
• Participate in internal projects, including system improvements and process optimisation.

The profile:

• Between 5 and 8 years’ experience in accounting, ideally within an internal finance department (commercial company, corporate group, or similar).
• Experience managing company entities rather than client portfolios is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of Luxembourg GAAP, VAT, and corporate tax principles.
• Fluent English required; French is an advantage.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong affinity with accounting systems.
• Experience with Sage BOB or Odoo is a plus.
• Structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working autonomously within a small team.
• Able to interact confidently with senior stakeholders and auditors.
