Interim Senior Accountant - 2 months
Location: Luxembourg City
We are looking for a Senior Accountant with solid experience in Luxembourg holding structures (SOPARFI). The role requires strong knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP, corporate law relating to dividend distributions, VAT treatment of holding companies, and accounting for intra-group financing instruments. This is a mission open until the end of March 2026.
The role:
- Account for participations under Luxembourg GAAP (cost method), including impairment analysis and documentation.
- Record and monitor inbound dividends and prepare accounting entries for shareholder distributions.
- Assess availability of distributable reserves in accordance with Luxembourg Company Law (retained earnings, current year result, legal constraints).
- Analyze VAT status of holding companies and determine deductibility of foreign invoices (e.g. EU legal services).
- Prepare and review VAT filings where applicable.
- Record accruals, prepayments, and supplier invoices spanning multiple accounting periods.
- Account for intra-group financing arrangements, including interest-free loans, interest-bearing loans, and profit participating loans (fixed and variable components).
- Monitor interest accruals and ensure proper income and expense recognition.
- Prepare annual accounts under Luxembourg GAAP and liaise with auditors.
- Support corporate tax and net wealth tax reporting.
- Maintain accounting records in compliance with Luxembourg regulations and fiduciary standards.
Profile
- 4–8 years of experience within a Luxembourg fiduciary or similar environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of SOPARFI accounting and Luxembourg corporate law.
- Comfortable handling cross-border transactions and structured financing.
- Detail-oriented, autonomous, and technically rigorous.
