HEAD OF FINANCE PE & INVESTMENT CONTROLLING – BOUTIQUE AIFM - NT707
Our client is a Luxembourg-based regulated AIFM and boutique private equity fund-of-funds manager serving institutional and professional investors. The Luxembourg office manages approximately $1.5 billion across different funds with a new one to be launched in 2027. The core finance, fund accounting, investment controlling and investor reporting activities are performed in-house, creating direct exposure to end investors and senior decision-makers.
This new created role reports directly to the MD and leads a small team of accountants and investment controllers. It is designed for an alternative finance professional who has mastered accounting and now wants to operate in a broader financial role. As you establish yourself, the role will increasingly focus on leadership, investment controlling and broader finance matters - moving beyond accounting into analytical, investor-facing and cross-functional responsibilities across the AIFM.
THE MANDATE:
Finance Leadership & Team Development
Set priorities, deadlines and quality standards across accounting and investment controlling
Provide accessible day-to-day leadership between the team and the Managing Directors
Coach, develop and provide clear feedback to a mature and experienced team
Lead by example and remain sufficiently close to the work to support complex matters and peak periods
Fund Finance & Investor Reporting
Take accountability for accurate and timely fund accounting closes, financial statements, capital accounts, cash-flow notices and investor reporting for SIF, RAIF and unregulated structures
Review capital calls and distributions from underlying private equity investments and to the investors
Plan and manage the audit process for the funds and the AIFM
Apply fund legal documentation in the context of accounting, investment monitoring and fund administration
Investment Insights & Finance Transformation
Combine accounting and investment data to explain fund performance clearly to investors and management
Oversee reporting on investments
Respond to investor, prospective investor, sales and management requests
Translate broad or conceptual business questions into practical financial analysis, models and recommendations
Develop finance, valuation and investment-monitoring policies and support the management company with accounting and budgeting
Lead systems, automation and process-improvement initiatives, collaborating closely with portfolio management, risk, sales and other AIFM teams
THE PROFILE:
Essential experience
A strong technical foundation in finance and accounting (LuxGAAP) for alternative investments, ideally private equity or other closed-ended funds, with substantial experience as both a preparer and reviewer.
Demonstrated people-management experience, including setting expectations, managing deadlines, developing employees and delivering constructive feedback.
The willingness and credibility to operate as both a leader and an individual contributor in a boutique environment.
A broad analytical mindset: you can move beyond debits and credits, interpret fund data and turn an ambiguous question into a clear and practical answer.
Confidence, reliability, rigour and sound judgement when working with senior stakeholders and demanding deadlines.
A firm grasp of the Luxembourg regulatory environment, including Lux GAAP and relevant CSSF requirements affecting accounting and finance.
Excellent written and verbal English, including the ability to communicate clearly with investors and senior management.
Strong asset
Experience within an in-house AIFM, asset manager, GP or similarly substantive alternatives platform.
Exposure to private equity fund-of-funds, investment controlling, valuation or institutional investor reporting.

Join a high-performing, international AIFM with direct exposure to senior leadership and institutional investors.
A broad and evolving leadership role with opportunities to influence systems, processes and the wider finance function.
Flexible working arrangements, a competitive remuneration package and an attractive annual leave allowance.
