Conducting Officer Risk & Money Laundering Reporting Officer - AS498

Conducting Officer – Risk & Money Laundering Reporting Officer
The Opportunity:

We are mandated by a leading global private markets investment manager who is establishing a new Luxembourg AIFM as part of its next phase of European growth. The firm manages capital for a blue-chip institutional client base worldwide and is expanding its European platform to support the rollout of evergreen and ELTIF solutions. The Luxembourg entity will launch with a meaningful seeded portfolio (circa EUR 1.5bn of closed-end AIF assets) and a clear multi-year plan to scale AUM, product capability, and headcount across EMEA.
This is a true build opportunity for a senior Conducting Officer who wants influence, pace, and ownership. You will help shape the governance, operating model, and control framework from day one - working closely with a high-calibre international leadership team and top-tier external counsel.

Your role:
  • Serve as Conducting Officer for Compliance, Risk Management, and MLRO functions within the Luxembourg AIFM structure
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures across the organization
  • Provide regular reporting to the AIFM board of directors on compliance activities and risk management developments
  • Direct the compliance monitoring program and coordinate internal audit activities and risk assessment initiatives
  • Manage AML/CFT frameworks for Luxembourg fund structures and provide supervision of fund administrators' AML/CTF operations
  • Develop AML/CTF policies and procedures for both the AIFM entity and managed funds, collaborating with the broader compliance function to deliver regular risk assessments
  • Maintain effective oversight of the US-based delegated portfolio manager and additional third-party service providers, working in coordination with Conducting Officers for Portfolio Management and Operations
  • Build and implement the AIFM risk management framework while continuously monitoring and evaluating risk exposures across the fund portfolio
  • Partner with investment teams and the Portfolio Management Group to ensure effective risk identification and mitigation strategies
  • Lead and execute risk management projects and initiatives to strengthen the AIFM's overall risk posture
  • Champion a culture of strong risk awareness and rigorous regulatory compliance throughout the organization

Your profile:
  • 8-10 years of professional experience, with a minimum of 4-5 years in private markets (Private Equity, Private Credit, Infrastructure, or similar asset classes)
  • Comprehensive understanding of Luxembourg fund regulations and supervisory frameworks, including familiarity with EU directives (AIFMD, MiFID II, SFDR, GDPR) and CSSF circulars on AML/KYC compliance
  • Proven track record in risk management within asset management, preferably focused on alternative investments and Luxembourg-domiciled structures
  • Strong work ethic with ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity
  • Excellent analytical capabilities combined with strong influencing and communication abilities
  • Comfortable operating in an international environment with flexibility to accommodate colleagues across different time zones
  • University degree (Bachelor's or Master's level) in Finance, Economics, Law, or related discipline
  • Professional risk certification (FRM, PRM, or equivalent) is advantageous
  • Fluent English essential
  • French and/or German proficiency highly valued
